What is stress?
Which are the reactions to stress?
Could stress be prevented?

What is stress?

Let me remind you that stress is an "overreaction" of the body in front of aggressive stimulus from the outside or from your own body.

When stress occurs as a response to aggressive outside agents like aggressions, injuries, contusions or irritating chemical substances, we call it physical stress.

If stress is caused by intense emotions, repetitive "negative" thoughts, or inappropriate body behavior, we call it psychical stress.

Which are the reactions to stress?
Physical stress can promote a number of "overreactions":
functional discomfort (fatigue, beer belly feeling, shortness of breath, irregular breathing);
psychosomatic symptoms (cervical, back or low back pain; muscular strain and postural disorders; dyspepsia, asthma, allergies, snoring);
organic physical changes (arthrosis-arthritis, gastritis-stomach ulcer, eczemas-psoriasis);

Psychical stress can show itself by several symptoms, such as:
negative emotions: "overalertness", anguish, fear, anger, sadness, depression;
negative thoughts: nightmares, insomnia, recurrent conflictive memories;
inappropriate fixed behavioral patterns: aggression, revenge, submission, family violence;
misperception about: sight, hearing and feelings;
spiritual suffering: (sense or irreality, existential or mystical conflicts).
